Senior Director of Advancement, Department of Neurology - University of Rochester
Higher Talent, Inc. is proud to announce the kick-off of a new search for the University of Rochester to identify a Senior Director of Advancement, Department of Neurology. The Senior Director will work closely with world renowned Researchers/Physicians in establishing a robust fundraising program for Neurology, one of the largest units supporting the upcoming campaign plans. In addition, the Senior Director will work alongside an exceptional advancement senior management team with experience from Cleveland Clinic and Washington University in St. Louis, and will build a team of Major Gift Officers. Compensation will be extremely competitive.
Rochester’s neurology department has a long tradition as one of the premier neurology training programs in the United States. In 2009, extramural research support totaled $31 million, and the department has consistently ranked within the top 6 nationally in NIH research funding. Yet rather than rest on its laurels, the department is again aggressively expanding further, with a total of 22 new faculty recruits anticipated over the next 5 years, as part of the University of Rochester’s strategic plan for 2009-13.
The ideal candidate will be someone with a scientific background coupled with the ability to interact with department chairs and grateful patients in an effort to raise money for the Neuromedicine departments at University of Rochester. We are not seeking a traditional fundraising/development executive for this role, but rather an individual who will help lead and develop the overall strategy for the institutions bench to bedside inter disciplinary practices.
